The Comox Valley Unhoused Society will become a tiny house community for people that are unhoused, as well as low-income seniors and anyone else that is at risk of becoming unhoused. It will provide education, and rehabilitation thorough a person-specific program. Participants will progress through as they design and build their own tiny house, and work as a group to build tiny homes for seniors and anyone who is unable to build their own. Individuals will be able to complete their GED, learn to grow their own food, cook healthy simple meals, and have opportunities for employment and post-secondary education, and will be able to access the same help they were receiving during the program after the program is complete. This program joins physical infrastructure, mental health and addictions support, and life-skills in a holistic and supportive community.
